Germ Warfare: Nahuli ang mga Komunista sa Isang Kasinungalingan (Communists Caught in a Lie), 1952 US poster: A photo sheet

Germ Warfare: Nahuli ang mga Komunista sa Isang Kasinungalingan (Communists Caught in a Lie) (Tagalog poster distributed in Asia)

A photo sheet in Tagalog answering the 1952 Communist charge that UN forces used germ weapons in Korea. Portraits of Acheson, Trygve Lie and Jacob Malik head the page, above photographs of a UN-flagged field hospital, Red Cross delegates, a prisoner being inoculated, a wounded man on a stretcher and a man spraying a shed. The captions state that the UN and Red Cross offered an investigation and that the Communists refused. The tell is testimonial and transfer: UN and Red Cross standing is attached to the US-UN side, and officials' denials stand as the rebuttal.

Communists Caught in a Lie

The Communists, who apparently cannot safeguard health in Korea, have charged that the U.N. is using "germ bombs". At right, Malik of Russia, who made the charge; it was answered "ridiculous" by Secretary Acheson of the U.S., left. Secretary-General Lie of the U.N., centre, objected.

The Red Cross accepted the responsibility to examine the charges and to help the sick, whatever the cause. The U.N. leaders agreed.

But the Communists refused, because they fear the truth will be exposed, as in their earlier refusal, and rejected the help of the WHO.

The lie is exposed. The free world stands by the truth. Prisoners received care, as seen at left, and the wounded man in the centre of the picture. Those who witness the work of the U.S. and U.N. (right) also know the truth and the Communists' lie.
