INAUGURACION DE EXPOSICION "ATOMOS EN ACCION"
En este novedoso edificio se llevó a cabo la Exposición "Atomos en Acción," durante los meses de Febrero y Marzo, patrocinada por la Comisión de Energía Atómica de los Estados Unidos en colaboración con el Comité de la Feria Internacional de El Salvador.
El Presidente de la República, Coronel Julio A. Rivera, hizo el corte simbólico de la cinta, dando por inaugurada la Exposición que demostraba los usos pacíficos del átomo.
El Ministro de Economía, Dr. Abelardo Torres, hablando en nombre del Presidente, dijo: "Las aplicaciones pacíficas de la energía atómica son de tan enorme importancia que es difícil exagerar su papel en el futuro desenvolvimiento de los países nuevos."
Después de la ceremonia de inauguración, el Presidente y su comitiva visitaron las instalaciones científicas de la Exposición. En esta gráfica, el Coordinador de Proyectos Científicos de la Exposición (a la izquierda) explica el funcionamiento del implemento de radiación gamma.
