Hồi Chánh Viên Phùng Xuân Hồ (Returnee Phung Xuan Ho), Chieu Hoi leaflet ATF-092-71

Two-sided leaflet. One side shows a man standing in a field under the words 'Returnee' and his name beside a Chieu Hoi emblem; the other is a signed, dated handwritten letter saying he rallied at 6 a.m. on 1 March 1971, was welcomed, that life with the Viet Cong meant too little food, clothing and medicine, and that wives and children are waiting. The tell: a named, pictured village official gives a dated first-hand account and ends with a family appeal.

[Side 2, handwritten]
I am Phung Xuan Ho, farmers' association team leader of Hamlet 1, Binh Chau village.
I rallied at 6 a.m. on 1-3-71, at Cau Dai, where I was received kindly by a military unit and treated kindly by the government.
Living with the Viet Cong meant suffering hunger: no rice to eat, no clothes to wear, no medicine when ill.
To you who are still lost in the forest, hurry and rally so that the Government of the Republic of Vietnam can guarantee our lives.
Your wives and children are waiting for you; the sooner you return the better.
Warm regards
2-3-71
Phung Xuan Ho
