(I am a miner) (Chinese poster distributed in Asia)
A photo-set poster in the first person of a coal miner in a Kentucky mining town. Six photographs show the miner, a pre-shift meeting, the town, drilling at the coal face, a family dinner and a recreation area, with captions on wages, safety, union and company cooperation and a labour committee. The tell is testimonial with plain-folks: an ordinary worker vouches for US labour conditions in his own voice; the safety and rights claims are the poster's own and are not documented on the sheet.

Text on the object
I am a miner I am a coal miner of David City [as rendered], Kentucky, in the United States, named Wen Dawei [as rendered]. After four years of training I have become a skilled miner. My income is a fixed wage. Because of the good working conditions, I chose to be a coal miner. We use the newest mining equipment and have methods to protect the miners' safety. When the David City coal mine was founded ten years ago, our union and the company cooperated closely. Now there is a labour-management committee that guarantees all our rights and leaves no gulf between our workers and the mine. In this community I have also been elected a member of the town council. We are now working on a new project: setting up a children's playground. Before starting work each day, we and our foreman first discuss the work plan. I am proud of David City, and I feel happier still to live in a country where one can choose one's own way of life. My work is to loosen the coal with a drilling machine. We have taken two million tons of coal out of the mine and have never had a fatal or injuring accident. After eight hours of work I go home and share the evening meal with my family. On weekends and holidays we go to the recreation centre the miners have built to relax.
