der Untersteiermark!

Der Führer hat mir in meiner Eigenschaft als Chef der Zivilverwaltung mit dem heutigen Tag die gesamte vollziehende Gewalt für das Gebiet der Untersteiermark übertragen. Ich habe für jede Bezirkshauptmannschaft der Untersteiermark einen Politischen Kommissar bestellt, der mir dafür verantwortlich ist, daß in kürzester Zeit in seinem Bereich Ordnung eintritt. Falls volksfeindliche Elemente versuchen sollten, den Anordnungen der Zivilverwaltung Widerstand zu leisten, wird dieser rücksichtslos gebrochen.
Als vor 23 Jahren der Feind den Süden unserer schönen Heimat besetzt hat, erfolgte der Raub dieses Landes gegen den Willen seiner arbeitsamen und treuen Bevölkerung. Großes Leid hat die jugoslawische Fremdherrschaft über Euch gebracht. Städte und Dörfer wurden rücksichtslos ausgeplündert, der Bauer und Arbeiter an den Bettelstab gebracht.
Nun hat Euch
Adolf Hitler
wieder heimgeholt. Die alte Verbundenheit mit Deutschland ist wieder hergestellt, in kurzer Zeit wird der Führer die Untersteiermark als einen wertvollen Bestandteil in das Großdeutsche Reich eingliedern. Ihr werdet dann als Glied dieser Weltmacht teilhaben an dem größten Aufbauwerk, das die Geschichte kennt.
Im Namen des Führers spreche ich allen deutschen Volksgenossen, die in den 23 Jahren gearbeitet, geopfert und geblutet haben, den Dank aus. Weiters gilt mein Dank den Steirern, die auch während der Zeit der Fremdherrschaft, getragen von der Liebe zu ihrer steirischen Heimat, stets den Anschluß der Untersteiermark an das deutsche Mutterland herbeigesehnt haben.
Die Stunde des Bekenntnisses ist jetzt gekommen. Alle Steirer, die sich zu Adolf Hitler und seinem Reich bekennen, werden in den nächsten Tagen ihren Antrag auf Aufnahme in den
„Steirischen Heimatbund“
stellen können. Der steirische Heimatbund wird die große Organisation sein, die alle gutgesinnten Steirer umfaßt.
Ich bin überzeugt davon, daß alle gutgesinnten Steirer die Stunde der Befreiung ihrer Heimat als die schönste ihres Lebens ansehen. Wir danken alle mit heißem Herzen unserem Schöpfer, daß er uns diese Stunde erleben ließ, und geloben Adolf Hitler, alles zu tun, um mit dem Einsatz unserer ganzen Kräfte dieser großen geschichtlichen Wende würdig zu sein.

Should elements hostile to the people try to resist the orders of the civil administration, this will be broken without mercy.
When 23 years ago the enemy occupied the south of our beautiful homeland, the robbery of this land took place against the will of its industrious and loyal population. Yugoslav foreign rule brought you great suffering. Towns and villages were ruthlessly plundered, the farmer and worker brought to beggary.
Now Adolf Hitler has brought you home again. The old bond with Germany is restored; in a short time the Fuhrer will incorporate Lower Styria as a valuable part of the Greater German Reich. You will then, as a member of this world power, share in the greatest work of construction that history knows.
In the Fuhrer's name I express thanks to all German fellow-countrymen who in these 23 years worked, sacrificed and bled. My thanks also go to the Styrians who, even during the time of foreign rule, borne by love of their Styrian homeland, always longed for the union of Lower Styria with the German motherland.
The hour of avowal has now come. All Styrians who avow Adolf Hitler and his Reich will be able in the next few days to submit their application for admission to the
'Styrian Homeland League'.
The Styrian Homeland League will be the great organisation that embraces all well-disposed Styrians.
I am convinced that all well-disposed Styrians will regard the hour of their homeland's liberation as the finest of their lives. We all thank our Creator with warm hearts that He let us live to see this hour, and pledge to Adolf Hitler to do everything, with the commitment of all our strength, to be worthy of this great historic turning point.
