Make a date with Uncle Sam: enlist with Coast Guard SPARS
Coast Guard women's reserve recruiting poster: a woman in a Coast Guard cap and uniform stands in front of Uncle Sam, under 'Make a date with Uncle Sam' and 'Enlist with Coast Guard SPARS'. Placing the national figure beside the recruit transfers his authority to the service; 'Apply nearest Coast Guard office' gives the practical step.
