"Vote Yes for Woman Suffrage" poster stamp, New Jersey Next Campaign Committee (United States, 1915)
A colour poster stamp stuck on the campaign committee's envelope: a running rider in old-fashioned tricorn hat, knee breeches and cape, blowing a horn, under the words 'Vote YES for Woman Suffrage', a ballot box marked with an X, the year 1915 and the referendum dates. The tell is the costume: dress that recalls eighteenth-century messengers borrows the standing of an earlier era for a present-day ballot appeal, alongside plain voting instructions.
