New Life in Ba Dang Hamlet (Cuộc sống mới tại Ấp Ba-Đàng)
Under a blue banner, six photographs of a resettlement hamlet show cement blocks and a mason, new block houses, fishing boats and a village road. The text says 65 refugee families who fled Communist harassment from Cua Can were moved to Ba Dang with help from the Refugee Relief Service, and that the people are 'no longer refugees; they have a new homeland.' The tell is a story told by outcome only, with one hamlet and its before-and-after standing for resettlement as a whole.

Text on the object
NEW LIFE IN BA-DANG HAMLET 65 refugee families at the Ba-Dang resettlement site have rebuilt a new and promising life in place of the life full of uncertainty, constantly disturbed by the Communists, that they had before. Formerly they lived in Cua Can, a village near the Binh-Tuy / Binh-Thuan border, but they moved of their own accord to the new site with the help of the Refugee Relief Service. The Government, with the self-help programme, has helped the refugee families with cement and corrugated iron sheets to rebuild their homes. Ba-Dang today, spacious houses... With the Government's help, the people are now able to live comfortably. The main source of income is catching shrimp and fish out at sea. THE PEOPLE OF BA-DANG ARE NO LONGER REFUGEES; THEY HAVE A NEW HOMELAND. The people have also built a road linking Ham-Tan district town with Ba-Dang hamlet. 3125
