[Cartoon] NEXT? [crosses labelled] MADERO / SUAREZ [fallen figure labelled] MEXICAN REBELS — By the Oakland Tribune Cartoonist. Regeneración Written by workers and for workers Revolutionary Weekly No. 154. Saturday, 16 August 1913. The American Invasion We have always spoken plainly since the Mexican people rose in arms to win their liberties in the winter of 1910. The collection of REGENERACION shows our views on the triumph of that grand movement and on the probable intervention of the United States of America in case the Revolution should reach the point of destroying the property that the Americans created in that country by the slavery of the Mexican workers and by the corrupt concessions of the tyrannical governments that have ruled the Republic in recent years. [...] The Panama Canal, which will open in 1915, demands the possession of the countries of Mexico and Central America by the Americans; [...] everything cries out invasion of Mexico. [...] Woodrow Wilson, Bryan, and the other ridiculous Democratic reformists, at the precise hour that the powerful American plutocracy demands it, will order their marines landed on the coasts of Mexico and their army corps to invade across the northern border. [Cartoon] NEXT? [crosses labelled] MADERO / SUAREZ [fallen figure labelled] MEXICAN REBELS — By the Oakland Tribune Cartoonist. THE NEXT ONE? Curing Causes and Diagnosing Effects The Yellow Peril Wilhelm II of Germany was the man who some years ago pointed out to European capitalism the yellow peril, the avalanche that the men of the countries of the Far East were preparing to let fall on the Caucasian world. And the German clown was right. Chinese capitalism and the Japanese bourgeoisie, since then, have not ceased to invade the countries that have let themselves be, and thus have amassed colossal fortunes alike on the Pacific coasts of the Saxon peoples in America and in the territories of the Latin peoples of this continent.
