These Will Not Be Aimed at Free Vietnamese (Captured Viet Cong Arms Ship)

A portrait sheet (code SP-1173) reports that Vietnamese and U.S. naval and air forces found and destroyed a Viet Cong steel-hulled supply ship on 10 May 1966. Photographs show the wrecked hull beside a Republic of Vietnam Navy junk, naval officers inspecting a captured heavy machine gun marked as made by 'Tiep Khac' (Czechoslovakia), and rows of mortar rounds and TNT crates. The closing line credits timely action by Republic of Vietnam and Allied forces with breaking every Viet Cong plot of terror and sabotage. Seized weapons and a stated tonnage are presented as proof of the claim.

THESE WEAPONS CAN NO LONGER KILL COMPATRIOTS!

Vietnamese and American Navy and Air Force found and destroyed a Viet Cong steel ship carrying weapons and ammunition on 10-5-66. The ship carried about 60 tonnes of equipment. In the attack we destroyed about 50 tonnes. This is once again a Viet Cong attempt to infiltrate terrorist equipment that has failed.

The steel ship, broken in two. Beside it is a junk of the Republic of Vietnam Navy. The collected equipment has been put on display.

A Navy officer examines a heavy machine gun made by Czechoslovakia.

The mortar rounds and [artillery shells] the 'Big Uncle' used to attack the South have been seized. Behind them are crates of Chinese Communist TNT explosive that the Viet Cong intended to use to terrorise. Besides weapons and ammunition, the ship also carried propaganda equipment such as film projectors, loudspeakers, etc...

THE TIMELY ACTION OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM AND THE ALLIES HAS BROKEN EVERY TERRORIST AND SABOTAGE PLOT OF THE VIET CONG.
