A Vietnamese photo sheet (code SP-1464) reports that the Army of the Republic of Vietnam's 21st Division defeated the Viet Cong's U Minh 2 Battalion on 24 to 25 September 1966 in An Xuyen and Bac Lieu, with 118 killed, 68 captured and a list of seized weapons, and charges that the Viet Cong forced 14- and 15-year-old boys to fight. Photographs show seated shirtless youths, a named 14-year-old speaking with an officer, the division commander at a map, troops wading a stream and rows of captured arms. The sheet sets a conscription accusation against the enemy beside a casualty and weapons tally.

THE VIET CONG U MINH 2 BATTALION DEFEATED AGAIN THE VIET CONG FORCE CHILDREN AGED 14-15 TO FIGHT FOR THEM. On 24-25 September 1966 the Republic of Vietnam's 21st Infantry Division defeated the Viet Cong U Minh 2 Battalion and a unit of the Viet Cong mobile battalion at Soc Trang. The recent operation in An Xuyen and Bac Lieu provinces proved the truth: the Viet Cong have used children aged 14-15 and sent them onto the battlefield. These are some of the children forced onto the battlefield by the Viet Cong. But most of these boys have had no military training at all. Nguyen Van Duc, 14 years old, forcibly conscripted by the Viet Cong only one week ago. An officer of the 21st Infantry Division is questioning him kindly. Soldiers of the 21st Infantry Division relentlessly pursue the enemy through dense jungle and swamp. The commander of the 21st Infantry Division personally directs the operation that defeated the Viet Cong U Minh Battalion.
