'Zafer Silahı' [Weapon of Victory], 1942 US poster: A photograph of a US four-engine bomber (Flying Fortress) seen from above

'Zafer Silahı' [Weapon of Victory] (The Final Victory Weapon [Turkish])

A photograph of a US four-engine bomber (Flying Fortress) seen from above sits over a Turkish text block, a US flag and a portrait of President Roosevelt, inside a blue border of stars. The flag and portrait attach national authority to the aircraft (transfer), and the text gives altitude and production claims with no counter-figures (card-stacking).

WEAPON OF VICTORY

The weapon that the aggressor states did not take into account is America’s heavy bombers called “Flying Fortresses”. These aircraft, which attack from an altitude of 12,300 metres, are safe from anti-aircraft guns and from the highest-flying fighter aircraft. These mighty aircraft are being built by four large American factories and by a large new factory that Ford set up solely for this purpose. American engineering and inexhaustible material make the mass construction of these “Flying Fortresses” possible. America’s first construction programme in this field is to turn out 1,000 aircraft of this type in every month of the year 1942.
