THE BEGINNING OF A NEW WORTHWHILE LIFE Since 8-1-1967 there have been 360 Viet Cong troops rallying in Bac Lieu. Thanks to the Government's chieu hoi programme they have been reunited with their families and begun a comfortable, useful life. CHIEU HOI CENTRE [BAC LIEU] At the Chieu Hoi centre they have had the chance to play sports. A concrete proof of the awakened spirit of many ralliers is that they have eagerly taken part in calling on their former comrades to follow their example and return to the just cause. They have volunteered to join the armed propaganda teams and re-establish contact with their comrades. After a short period of about 30 to 40 days at the Chieu Hoi centre, the ralliers have been reunited with their families. Throughout their stay at the centre they are cared for with medicine, clothing and food. Ralliers who bring weapons when they return are all rewarded.
