Kontum on the Way to Reconstruction (Kontum xây dựng)
A gold-banded sheet headed 'Kontum Builds' tallies what provincial services have delivered in Kontum province: loans to 212 farmers, 1,120 head of livestock, 445 tonnes of fertiliser and six classrooms built with USAID help. Photographs show a rebuilt hamlet, a new school, a pig handed to a Highlander and a crowd addressed by an official. Đến nay, tại Kontum có trên 30 ngàn đồng bào Thượng xa lánh Cộng-Sản về sống với sự bảo trợ của Chính-Quyền Quốc-Gia. Song song với việc phát triển kinh-tế, công tác mở mang trường ốc được thực hiện. KONTUM BUILDS To raise the living standard of the Kinh and Highlander compatriots of Kontum province, the local authorities are striving to push forward rural construction work. So far, the Agricultural Credit Service has lent 1,450,000 piastres to 212 farmers, the Livestock Service has issued 1,120 head of livestock, the Agriculture Service has distributed 445 tonnes of fertiliser, 8 tonnes of seed rice and 6,000 fruit trees, and the Primary Education Service has completed 6 classrooms with material assistance from the agency USAID. To show Kinh-Highlander solidarity, the Scout groups, Youth Public Service groups and village youth commissioners have lent a hand in rebuilding Dexomai hamlet. The Commissioner-General for Highlander Affairs talks with Highlander compatriots who are refugees from Communism at Dexomai about the government's approach to building a new society. So far, in Kontum more than 30 thousand Highlander compatriots have left Communism behind to live under the protection of the National Government.
