Land for the Farmers
A photo-montage sheet (code SP-1047) reports a ceremony at which a deputy province chief handed land-ownership certificates to 185 farmers in five villages of Nha Be district, covering 227 mau 12 sao 72 cao. Four photographs show a speaker reading, the hall, a woman farmer receiving her certificate and men examining the document. Only the handover is shown and counted; the sheet gives no figures for other farmers or for land not yet distributed.

Một tân điền chủ đại diện 185 nông dân quận Nhà Bè phát biểu cảm tưởng sau khi nhận bằng khoán quyền sở hữu ruộng đất. Một nữ nông dân xã Tân Quy Đông hân hoan lãnh nhận bằng khoán làm chủ ruộng đất do chính tay bà khai phá trong những năm qua. Nét mặt hân hoan tràn đầy tin tưởng của các nông dân sau khi lãnh bằng khoán chính thức làm chủ ruộng đất của họ. SP-1047

A new landowner, representing the 185 farmers of Nha Be district, speaks his feelings after receiving the land-ownership certificates. A woman farmer of Tan Quy Dong village joyfully receives the certificate making her owner of land that she herself cleared over the past years. The joyful, confident faces of the farmers after receiving the certificates officially making them owners of their land. SP-1047
