New Market Opened in An Hoa Village
Sheet SP-1060 reports that on 18 March 1966 the province chief, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Xuan, opened a new market at An Hoa village, Hoa Lac district, built by villagers and officials 'with the assistance of the American government'. Photographs show the ceremony, a school, militia soldiers and new houses, and the foot of the sheet reads 'Viet Cong destroy! The Republic of Vietnam government builds!'. The tell: a one-line destroy/build contrast closes a sheet of positive local scenes.

NEW MARKET AT AN HOA, GO CONG On 18/3/66 Lieutenant Colonel Province Chief Tran Thanh Xuan inaugurated a new market in An Hoa village, Hoa Lac district. The market was built through the efforts of the villagers and the authorities with the assistance of the American government. At An Hoa as in the other villages of Go Cong, the authorities and the people cooperate closely in the work of building peace and prosperity for the country. Lieutenant Colonel Province Chief Tran Thanh Xuan addresses the villagers at the inauguration of the new market at An Hoa. Facing the market is the school. A school has just been completed in the village. The people are about to build another primary school. The Popular Force (Nghia Quan) soldiers also play an effective part in protecting security so that the compatriots can move freely and trade.
