Training for Citizenship: Britain's Boys and Girls Discuss the Replanning of London (For Freedom series, F.D./F.1)

One photograph shows young people seated around a hall as officers at a table under a 'Clubland: London Replanned' board run a mock-parliament style debate, under the title on youth citizenship. The tell for transfer is the Union Jack device and 'For Freedom' label, and for glittering-generalities the phrase 'the responsibilities of citizenship' and the claim that Britain's youth is 'playing a great part' in the manpower mobilisation, with no figures.

BRITAIN'S BOYS AND GIRLS DISCUSS THE REPLANNING OF LONDON

IN "CLUBLAND" a typical youth organisation in Britain, the members meet once a week to settle the business of the club. General topics are debated as well, and here they are discussing an important post-war problem—the replanning of London. In this way, Britain's citizens of the future learn how to accept the responsibilities of citizenship while in the midst of war. By day most of these young people are in the war factories and training centres. Britain's youth is playing a great part in the record mobilisation of Britain's manpower.
