A landscape-format Vietnamese-language poster in six captioned photographs reports a Viet Cong attack on a South Vietnamese command post at Nui Sam on the night of 15 to 16 June 1967, which it says left 46 enemy dead, followed by a general pinning a gold star on the battalion commander, awards to 31 officers and men, a display of captured weapons and a crowd welcoming the unit. The first photograph shows bodies on the ground among onlookers. The tell is the sequence of enemy dead, decorations and civilian welcome, which presents the engagement as a victory with public recognition.
